MUSCULAR SYSTEM MODEL PROJECT
This is the next part of our Organ System Presentation. (the link is here: http://oliviagonzalezstem.weebly.com/human-body-organ-system-presentation.html) With our given organ system, we had to build a functioning model of it, and show two of its functions. Below is our project proposal:

We started building our project over the course of a month. On March 14, we are going to present our projects to the public.
Building our project was a little difficult, because we all had different ideas. We also wanted to make sure our project was at its very best, and functioned properly.

Here are the finished products:
Our models are an arm and a representation of actin and myosin.
Functions of the Arm Model:
The arm model showed the movement of the bicep and tricep muscles. When you pull the bicep muscle, the arm "flexes". When you pull the tricep muscle, the arm relaxes, or straightens.
Functions of the Actin/Myosin Representation:
We made a "conveyor belt" and attached pipe cleaner representations of the actin and myosin. When you rotated the dowels that maneuvered it clockwise, then the actin/myosin will slide past each other.
Reflections:
The success in our project were how how efficiently our group worked, the easiness of the project, and how well the final product ended up to be.
The challenges in our project included coming up with our final ideas, and bringing in all the materials in time.
Our final model worked really well during the presentation. We were very efficient, and made sure that all of our project functioned.
The judges really enjoyed our project, and didn't give us any feedback at all. They gave us a lot of compliments on how well our model worked and looked.
